The Life And Recovery Program — 12 Steps & 12 Principles For Recovery
|
|
Every journey in life starts with the first step. Join us on our Journey of Recovery.
|
 |
It is our intention to recapture an appreciation for the basic
Twelve Steps and to illustrate their Biblical roots. For those who have a compulsive behavior
from alcohol, chemical dependency, impulsive spending, workaholism, compulsive eating, and the
list goes on...
Any one of us can find ourselves in one or more of these situations. Some can get
out from under of it all. Yet others are in so deep they continue suffering, which has made their life
powerless and unmanageable.
Our vision is not just recovery but to go well beyond recovery so you can fully discover, explore,
and magnify all possibilities God intends for you as an individual. Almost everyone has the
need to recover from or overcome something in their lives. The Life & Recovery Program
and the Life Recovery Step Group are outreach ministries dedicated to mutual sharing of
strength and hope as we live each day in recovery.

The TWELVE STEPS and SPIRITUAL DISCIPLINES:
- Step One is about recognizing our brokenness.
- Step Two is about the birth of faith in ourselves that God has given us.
- Step Three involves a decision to let God be in charge of our lives.
- Step Four involves self-examination.
- Step Five is the discipline of confession.
- Step Six is an inner transformation sometimes called repentance.
- Step Seven involves the transformation or purification of our character.
- Step Eight involves examining our relationships and preparing ourselves to make amends.
- Step Nine is the discipline of making amends.
- Step Ten is about maintaining progress in recovery.
- Step Eleven involves the spiritual disciplines of prayer and meditation.
- Step Twelve is about ministry.

JESUS CHRIST Said . . . |
...that when He set you free, you will be free indeed. The
question is how one realizes that personal freedom. The basic concepts of these 12 principles
(the Twelve Steps) are rooted deep in the Scriptures, illustrated in the Life of Jesus Christ,
and they provide the foundation for a meaningful life.

|
|
The Life Recovery Step Group . . . |
...does not engage in providing individualized professional services or
counselling, and they should not be used or regarded as a substitute for such services. We are
only a support group, committed to creating a safe place for men and women to share their experience,
their strength, and their hope with each other.
